According to reports, Vivo is expected to unveil a new flagship model in the first ten days of October, which, as it turns out, will be slightly earlier than their regular launch schedule. The move follows the launch last November of the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro, which, as its name implies, are part of a push to establish an unbeatable position in terms of specifications for the Vivo smartphone market.
The timing of the X200 series launch seems like a direct counter to Apple’s iPhone 16 series, which is rumored for late September. Vivo reportedly wants to take advantage of this market window and pull some Apple fans over—notably in China, where Vivo posted its highest-ever smartphone sales for July and August. In China, Vivo holds 3rd place in the premium segment after Huawei and Apple, respectively; an early launch this year could further strengthen its standing.
Some rumors suggest that the Vivo X200 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 SoC, sporting a 6.3-inch flat OLED display with a super fast high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and “1.5K” resolution on top of it all. The device will reportedly feature a triple camera setup with 50 MP lenses, including one from Sony and a twin periscope zoom lens offering up to 3x optical magnification (which the Ice Universe says should go for digital too), as well as an ultrawide shooter. It is likely to house a 5,500–5,600 mAh battery unit with support for 90W wired fast charging.
The Vivo X200 Pro will sport an OLED display with curved size but won’t feature a fancy refresh rate or resolution. That could include a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera, as well as a main sensor and an ultrawide, both clocking in at 50MP. The Pro model may boast a 6,000 mAh battery as well, with IP68/IP69 ratings and an improved vibration motor.
