Samsung showed a strong presence with five models in the top 10, the most by any brand. Apple followed with four spots, while Xiaomi secured one. The combined market share of these top 10 smartphones stands at an impressive 19%, reflecting the continued competition between the leading players. The surge in demand for high-end iPhones, particularly the Pro variants, is a key trend in the smartphone market. For the first time in Q3 2024, iPhone Pro variants made up half of all iPhone sales, highlighting a shift toward premium devices. This trend is especially noticeable in emerging markets, where trade-in programs and financing options have made high-end models more accessible to a wider audience.
In addition, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series marked a significant achievement by securing a place in the top 10 for the third consecutive quarter. This marks the first time since 2018 that a Galaxy S model has entered the top 10 in Q3. Samsung’s Galaxy A series also made an impact, with four models in the top 10, showcasing the brand’s strong appeal in both premium and budget markets.
On the other hand, Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C remained on a roll in the emerging markets by delivering excellent value for its money coupled with superior performance.
