The Google Pixel 9a is set to make its official debut soon, and we now have the complete confirmed specifications. According to multiple reliable sources, including a wireless carrier and a secondary confirmation, the device will feature some noteworthy upgrades over its predecessor.
The Pixel 9a runs on the Google Tensor G4 processor and comes with the Titan M2 security chip for added protection. It will offer 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and two storage options: 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Key features include:
- Display:
- 6.285-inch Actua Display
- Peak brightness of 2,700 nits
- HDR brightness of 1,800 nits
- Protected by Gorilla Glass 3 for added scratch resistance
- Camera:
- 48MP GN8 Quad Dual Pixel primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture
- 13MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture (also used for the front-facing camera)
The Pixel 9a will be powered by a 5,100mAh battery, offering a 13% increase in capacity compared to the Pixel 8a. It will support 23W wired charging but maintain 7.5W wireless charging, without Qi2 support.
Physically, the Pixel 9a will be slightly larger than its predecessor, measuring 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm and weighing 185.9g, down from the Pixel 8a’s 188g. It will come in four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony.
The Pixel 9a will start at $499 for the 128GB model, with $50 more for the mmWave model that is also exclusive to Verizon. This pricing strategy echoes the Pixel 8a last year’s release, which means the new model brings minor improvements in terms of features and design.
