Apple has released yet another firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2, and this is the third update for this month of September. Coming with the build number 7A305, the firmwares also bring improvements in general performance and stability, especially for the second generation of AirPods Pro.
In Apple’s release notes for the update, they mostly consist of bug fixes and general improvements. But the firm has not offered detailed information on the problems solved, and some users remain in doubt as to the specifics of the remedies made. This lack of transparency might piss off some people looking for more elucidation on what has been enhanced.
The update only affects the first generation of the AirPods Pro 2, both those with a Lightning port and the newer models that have a USB-C port, which testify to Apple’s gradual transition to the USB-C port. Other AirPods models are not affected by this update.
Just like before, firmware updates are installed automatically when the AirPods Pro 2 are in their charging case and connected to an iOS device. They cannot force the update themselves, but to find out the firmware version, you will need to go to the Settings menu on your iPhone or iPad.
