MediaTek officially announced that it will release a brand-new high-end flagship chip, which is assumed to be the Dimensity 9400, on October 9th. The first word about the new generation of MediaTek products came in the form of a teaser posted on Weibo, a Chinese social media site.
Although the sampler did not say the chipset name, market stakeholders expect the teaser to incorporate Arm’s Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, which is ideal for high graphics processing. Combining the ability to adjust the operating frequency of its cores, the Dimensity 9400 is anticipated to provide an octa-core CPU setup that includes 1 x 3.63 GHz Cortex-X925, 3 x 2.8 GHz Cortex-X4, and 4 x 2.1 GHz Cortex-A725 cores. There is a synergy between high-performance and efficiency cores, which point to both power and battery requirements.
Some initial reports indicate that the new Dimensity 9400 is 30% faster than the Dimensity 9300 with enhanced GPU performance. Some reports even suggest that the new GPU could make this tool the most effective one on the market and a breakthrough in the field of mobile graphics.
By integration, Oppo is expected to use the Dimensity 9400 in its upcoming Find X8 and Find X8 Pro models, while Vivo, which the chipset manufacturer claims to be cooperating closely with, is rumored to use it in its next X200 series after the launch of the chipset.
